Common App (College Applications) FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Student Aid) BigFuture College Search (College Board) Campus Explorer (Online Colleges) Standardized Testing Testing Registration: Registration deadlines for the ACT, SAT, and SAT Subject Tests are generally 4-6 weeks before the test date. It is your responsibility to sign up for these exams by registering. College Board (SAT and College Searches) SAT Testing Dates Practice the SAT (using full length tests) Practice the SAT (using Kahn Academy) ACT (American College Testing) You should also be aware that there are many colleges that don’t require standardized testing, among them some very competitive and well-known institutions. www.fairtest.org Paying for the Tests: If you or your family qualify for free or reduced lunch, you qualify for SAT and ACT fee waivers. See guidance staff to get these fee waivers and we will confidentially help you to apply them. These waivers can also be used to send your scores to colleges for free. Fee waivers are also available for college application fees. If you feel your family may meet eligibility requirements but have never filled out the lunch forms, see Mrs. Spencer for help. If your family doesn’t qualify for reduced lunch but there are other economic factors affecting your ability to pay for the tests and applications, see any member of the guidance staff that you are comfortable with and we will help you. CEEB codes are needed when you register for SAT Program tests or send score reports to colleges and scholarship programs. You can choose these codes during online registration or when you send your scores out.

Letters of recommendation are needed for your future college and/or career pathways. These letters should come from faculty members who know you well. Brag sheets are a way for you to help your counselor and teachers write letters of recommendation. These forms give them more insight into who you are outside of school and your interests. Fill out these forms, and share them with your counselor and teachers when you ask them for a letter of recommendation! We will offer an essay workshop in the spring of your junior year and in the fall of your senior year if you would like help finalizing your essay. You should begin thinking about and working on this essay soon. You may also share your essay via google docs with your counselor at any time to receive feedback.
